Week 2 Personal Journal
For this week, our team were able to complete the character model; we were able to complete the weapon model; we were also able to start on some of the environment assets; we were also able to design and video tape animation for our main character; our programmer was able to complete his task for this week, which includes basic health system and also pillar bullets; our narrative member was able to flush out our story and started writing the script for our first section.
As a group manager, I assigned different work for each individual members based on their personal skill. I was also able to update the team progress blog. However, my main focus was on QA and modeling. I was able to finish the character model which includes hands (fingers), shoes and clothing. On top of that, after receiving the basic head model from my other teammate, I was able to modify and perfect the model. I also created the basic weapon model for my fellow modeling member to change and modify as well. Lastly, I was able to design and direct my friend (special thanks to Kenny Cheung) to act out the animations for our character as reference.
As for the reflection of myself, I am still working on team-leading since I have the tendency of working by myself. I want to further improve myself on identifying each individual member's weakness and strength and allow them to shine. (ex. Certain member is really good on modeling on non-organic models, a certain member is better at drawing and writing, etc.) As for my team, this week was great, everyone was able to deliver on their promises. The only nitpick that I could find is that I want members to do QA themselves before showing it to me.
