Week 10 Personal Blog

Similar to what I wrote in our team progress, this week is quite slow for my personal part as well. As a game director, I focused on thinking of ideas to create a more impactful visualization of our ultimate. Also, since I know that we had another assignment due in the same week, I assigned a small amount of individual work that could be finished within a short time period while also help our team progress forward.

As the modeler and animator, I started my week off by creating a gun model. I did multiple types of research on guns within other futuristic game titles such as Destiny. After that, I started implementing the gun model into the character animation. I was able to learn a lot about gun draw animation from PUBG and Fortnite, and I was able to finish the ultimate animation as a whole. Lastly, I started idealization and modeling for our enemy models, I started with high definition model, however, the more I worked on that, the more I think that it is impossible to finish the rigging and animation within the time we had. Therefore, I started creating a lower poly model for our game.

For my personal reflection, I think my ambition is a little bit too big that caused me a lot of time and redos. In the future, I would first consider how much time I personally have before I start modeling.
